colours, emotions and sounds

We have recently run an internet-based experiment on "color and emotion caused by auditory stimuli", in which users were asked to browse a website, listen to musical stimuli, and answer what emotions (from six choices) were triggered, as well as what color (from a color wheel) was perceived as most related to those stimuli. Our goal was to determine whether similar colours, emotions and sounds would be consistently associated considering this large population.

We have presented the results at the ICMC - SMC 2014 in Athens.

This former research is the first of a collaboration with Prof. Tiago Fernandes Tavares of University of Unicamp (Brazil).

The paper is available in the proceeding of the conference of International Computer Music Conference 2014.
